Intueor supported a large transit agency to plan and execute a complete overhaul of its automated Train Control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
The client's systems had become increasingly difficult to upgrade and maintain because of equipment and software obsolescence, impacting operations and service to patrons.
Intueor was responsible for managing the entire upgrade program. We developed a strategy and roadmap for the upgrade, researched industry case studies, managed the development of requirements and specifications, reviewed proposals, helped select the vendor, and oversaw implementation. Intueor also helped design the client's new Integrated Operations Center (IOC), and managed the interface with the Train Control and SCADA Upgrade program as the primary stakeholders for the IOC.
In supporting the client's Train Control and SCADA Upgrade system, Intueor helped implement a single integrated platform to manage all train movements, control third-rail electrical power, manage yard operations, enable better monitoring and communications, and enhance overall service to passengers. This integrated transit network helped position for future expansion to serve the greater region.
Intueor's program management and delivery methodology -- with its enhanced focus on people, process, and technology elements of large capital programs -- has served as a model the client has used for capital delivery programs by other agencies.
The client took a close look at their enterprise asset management (EAM) program in 2019, identifying asset handover and onboarding for both new and replacement assets as a high-impact issue. Intueor was responsible for helping manage the project and identifying several critical business improvement initiatives.
Read Case StudyIntueor is the prime contractor in working with a partner and the client, a state Department of Justice, in implementing a Citizen Complaint Database and Reporting System (CCDRS) to enhance oversight of law enforcement. Recent state legislation created a division within the Department of Justice to review the use-of-force policies and required a state prosecutor to investigate incidents of officer-involved shootings that result in the death of an unarmed civilian, and post the reports of that investigation online.
